- Variety - Choice: Sherlock (757) Aurora, Colorado (822) / Tagua Nuts (633) / Butterfly (752) / Montañita, Ecuador (843)
What's the Story about them? Let's get into it!
Sherlock - This picture is from the first few months we had her. We had to flee our apartment due to the increase of danger right outside our door. By this point we had only had her for about 2 months and was gradually getting more comfortable with us. We would play with her on our bed and every so often she would get confused and do a cute 'blep'. Managed to snap a picture of her cuteness. She was also 3 at this time back in 2020.
Aurora, Colorado -
This photo was from the local park right outside our apartment. Back in 2018-2020 we lived up in Aurora until the danger arose and we had to flee. We were quite sad we had to leave this lovely view and the fun little park nearby. The colors were magnificent!
Tagua Nuts - I had mentioned we fled Aurora due to the dangers increasing. We ended up going to Ecuador to get away from American politics with the dangers of whichever side lost. So we quickly dropped everything, shed more than half of our home items, and moved within a week. Took us about 2 months before we were able to travel and ended up at Ecuador! Here we have Tagua Nuts which are also known as "Vegetable Ivory" as a substitute for Elephant Ivory. These were typically made into buttons and can last for decades if not centuries! Fascinating nuts that start off as liquid you can drink before hardening into a solid nut.
Montañita, Ecuador - We ended up at Montañita, Ecuador which was a small party town on the coast. Due to it being during COVID, there wasn't as many people there other than the locals. So it was quite peaceful most of the time there. It also happened to be during October and November which is the slower season for the area. This photo is from the beach looking at all the exciting locations you can jump down to explore. We grabbed quite a few shells and rocks we hope to create into artworks coming up!
Butterfly - When we came back from the Ecuador trip, a few months later we travelled to a Colorado State Park to walk around. I came across this butterfly holding onto the side of a huge rock waiting for their wings to dry out. It was a beautiful shot I was excited to be able to capture. Gives you the feeling of hope and promise with the exciting life ahead of you!
