Adult Art Therapy

Draw

Easy

Take a few moments to slow down and reflect. Read through the prompts included in your kit and choose the one that speaks to you the most. There is no right or wrong answer—simply create an ATC that expresses your thoughts, feelings, or experiences. If you're unsure where to begin, make a few quick sketches on scrap paper before choosing your favorite idea. Repeat the process with your second card by exploring a different prompt or approaching the same prompt from a new perspective.
Once you feel the card is complete, sign and date the back.
(Optional: Glue an ATC backing to the back of your card and fill it out.)

Kit Curation Story

I wanted mental health to be focused on more and using art as a therapeutic method for all ages. These kits were focused on adults and looking at the complexities of human emotions and putting them into art.

Instructions

Look at Your Materials

Your kit includes two ATC blanks, two ATC backings, three prompts, and additional supplies depending on which version you received. Some kits include drawing tools while others include collage materials.

Prepare Your Workspace

If your kit includes papers, have glue or tape nearby. You may also want scrap paper for quick sketches.

Create

Read through the three prompts and choose one that stands out to you. Create an Artist Trading Card that represents your thoughts, feelings, memories, or experiences related to that prompt.

Experiment

Try answering the same prompt in different ways or choose a new prompt for your second card. There are no right or wrong interpretations.

Finish Your Card

Sign and date the back of each card. (Optional: Attach an ATC backing.)
